    Default Mudflap painting

Has anybody had any grief painting their mudflaps ??
Earlier in the week i was taking front & rear spoilers for my girlfriends corsa to our local paintshop, her paint code is 20R, same as my car, so i thought i would nip to dealers and buy some mudflaps (£32 approx) for me & have them painted at same time !
The painter phoned today to say the spoilers were done but couldn't do the mudflaps ! They done 2 of them with plastic primer (iirc) but the other 2 (unsure if they are front or rear) seemed to have a silicone based finish (think thats what he said anyway) & the primer wouldn't stick !
I never really looked at them when i bought them, they were in packets & just gave them straight to the painter. I did notice on the packaging of one it said OPEL, never noticed if the other was the same but they should be the same as VX ones anyway eh ?!
He was asking if i knew of any other cars like mine with painted mudflaps, i said yeah quite a few actually I've not to pick up spoilers till Monday, so i cant have a look at the flaps till then but we've agreed just for him to clean the primer off the first 2 & leave them unpainted !

I was sooo looking forward to getting them coded & fitted as well

Reason I ask is that your paintcode is different from mine, and I though your car looked a bit darker than mine, so if yours is black sapphire there may be different shades ...

    Sorry for the hijack

Hiya, its black sapphire, as far as i know mate, 20R or Z 20R XXJS 0012 to be exact The painter just looked at it & said "20R, right ok". Maybe you do get different shades I'm sure i read on here about various different shades of star silver !

Out of interest Bainie, whats your code like ? On a sunny day, when the paintwork is clean, if you look close at it you can see it has glitter in it as well ! Does all black sapphire cars do this ?

My code is 2HU, it does have a glitter through it, and after a few hours hard graft today it is shining like a new pin. I wonder if the paint codes are different between UK and German built cars ? The glitter has a slightly purple look to it I think ...
