Default Climate Control probs following car wash

Took my 2003 Vectra Elite 3.2 through a car wash the other day.

Following the car wash the fan on the climate control started making a few noises and the speed varied on the fan, then it stopped working.

Checked the fuses all seem ok.

Read online that water has entered through the ducting. The problem could be the fan or a resister pack which is failed.

    Anyone experienced this problem??

    Thanks

Oh yes, the climate has 7 speed setting not 4 like the normal air con.

Sounds like your scuttle panel/pollen filter water drain is blocked causing the water from the car wash to enter the cabin. There are loads of threads on here with similar symptoms. The water causes a resistor to short out and requires replacement.

I have just dismantled the internals of my vectra, only to find that there does not seem to be a resister pack where the 4speed aircon one is on the photos attached to the other thread.

Help. Can anyone else explain the 7 speed climate resolution, or is it time for a big bill?

I need to find my multi tester, to see if I am getting any power to the fan?, or whether it is part of the dash controller?

    cheers

Did you check the drain in front of the pollen filter before you do anything else ....
