    Default Polisher question

    these electric polishers just look like angle grinders! I have a good bosch grinder can I not just buy the pads etc and use it? or does it need varable speed

    I wouldnt even bother mate just get a polisher thats meant for the job...even if you could adapt your angle grinder you would probably burn through the paint as they spin a tad quick!...especially if its your first attempt.

    Right tool right job and all that

    grinders have variable speeds but the problem is the speeds the go at 2800rpm upwards to 10000rpm a polisher will work between 600rpm and 3000rpm but rarely used above 2200rpm to fast and the risk of going throug the paint are too high. unless you like the polished steel/aluminium look?

    You can get pretty cheap polishers from about £40..worth the investment!

    true m8, i paid £49 posted for a silverline machine with 4 heads....new ebay bargain
