...and first fail!!
Well, kinda. It did actually get failed initially for.....
"Windscreen has a sticker or other obstruction encroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone 'A'"
When I got back to collect the car and saw that I thought is on the screen there. All I could think of were two or three of the round VBOA stickers that get you into Billing for less for the VBOA weekend, but they were right up in the sunstrip area and had been there for the past MOTs. She went away and checked and apparently it was my boost gauge that was the obstruction! This extra requirement apparently is a reasonably recent thing - since my last MOT anyway - and thngs like TomToms left on the screen in certain places will also result in a fail if they fall within the view of the swept area of the wiper, which the gauge did slightly. It's going to be getting removed anyway as it's actually disconnected as it (the gauge) had started to play up a little while ago - dodgy sender - so I'll just remove it and be done with it.
EDIT: Pic showing where my boost gauge is so if you've got a SatNav etc. encroaching any further then that'll certainly fail!
Anyway, the tester immediately retested it with the gauge 'removed' and it passed swimmingly. and so there was also a pass certificate waiting for me when I got there.
There was an advisory for slight play in the offside inner track rod end ball joint which wasn't too surprising given it's mileage (75K) and that they haven't ever been replaced. I recently did the drop links and they were next on the list to do so will sort those out one day.
So, fourth MOT and fourth pass.
