    Default Powertec induction

    Hi,
I had a Powertec SL1 kit installed about a week ago on my 2.2 direct Siggy and to tell you the truth, not much improvement. I have read a few posts here saying that I would've been better with an upgraded K&N panel filter. Did I make a mistake?

    Thanks.

I would say yes - "if" you go down the induction kit route you have to get an closed type (Pipercross Viper, Simota) so you won't actually lose power with the heat it will be dragging in from the engine bay, even then you won't get huge gains, just a little bit with a nice noise.

I put a K&N 57i induction kit on my 2.2..made a fantastic noise but it made it abit more sluggish! changed it for a k&n panel filter, airbox mod and it feel much better, although i've lost the noise

shot yourself in the foot with the initial post me thinks

you could try modifying it to ensure your air feed is less contaminated by shielding it - would require more modification and money = get a k&n panle filter - save money save the enviroment and post the powertec sl1 on ebay

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
