Default Steering wheel + ESP lights up.

I'm wondering if someone here has faced (and solved) this problem...

Last winter, at cold temperatures, while driving on a bad road surface, ESP lighted up my dashboard. Trying to park the car, when steering wheel reached neutral position, a light on dash of steering wheel with exclamation mark appeared and turning signal didn't turn off.
I have turned off and again on the engine, all seemed to be normal.

After some days, when reversing, Damn ESP lights up. Steering wheel comes to neutral position, again light on dash of steering wheel with exclamation mark.

This problem reccured 90% when reversing, about 10-20 times after.

I have changed my battery (it was from 2003), corrected the wheel alignment, put it on tester (there was an error about Steering Angle Sensor - not present).

Meantime, outside temperatures have increased, and the problem didn't reccured. At OPEL Workshop they told me it must be the CIM causing this problem. Should i go for a new one, or there's more tests to do?

    10x for a quick reply.

did u faced same problems as i did?

Cause for the CIM, i know there's several more ... like steering wheel commands not working, dashboard turns off for few seconds etc, and i didn't have any of these.

Almost the same as what I had some time ago

Traction Control and Steering Wheel warning, and indicators fail to operate correctly or cancel

Traced to the CIM module and replaced under warranty

You are looking at £200 to £250
It doesn't take long though, if the parts are in stock you are looking at about 2 hours

Get the codes read as it could be either the cim or more likely steering angle sensor. Mine did it a few times, but only when reversing slowly on full lock.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
