Lightbulb Can't find a certain thread.... LED Fog Surrounds

A while back, maybe March / April time, I found a thread about someone who had taken the signum chrome fog covers, and drilled some holes in them to accept the "audi" style led strips.

I remember it went wrong on the first attempt, and he was going to try again.... I just can't for the life of me find it!.

I've been searching all evening, (not eaten yet), and am thinking of doing the same.... (kind of)

Anyone know what I'm on about? Or am I slowly going insane!

Thank you!.. I'm adding this to my favs, and will be researching how best to go about this.

I bought 4 hi vis white LED's from Maplin, and was planning to put 6 in each fog lamp surround in an SRI bumper.. drill, shove, glue, power.

Just wanted to see how lizard got on!

    Many thanks...!

Default This is the planned process..... and location.

Drill 15 holes on each surround, poke led's through.(prism white LEDs) solder/wire up to switch, silicon or glue behind it. 72cm Audi Style LED strip from fleabay round the bottom bit (shown in the white line above)

Once the XP kit is on, will probably go for Red SMD's all round.
Got yellow footwell LED's arriving soon... sticking to the standard Vaux colours.!

Talking Done it!... didn't plan to.. but did it on Sunday.

    Beware this is pic HEAVY....

Installed the footwell lighting on Sunday, after following a few threads on here as to what wire does what in the roof console. Anyway, that all works a treat, but as I finished earlier than planned I thought I'd start the LED project.. Well I did, and I finished.
(also fitted my Mtec 501, and OMG.. they're sooooo much better.. Ordering more next week!)
Any questions please ask. Total cost was about £45..
2 x prism ultra bright LED packs (£12)
1 x Ring LED bar light set (£20)
1 x rocker switch with neon indicator (£3)
    10m of dual core wire
    4 rolls of insulation tape!
Couple of clip connectors for the footwell light on glovebox (so I can remove it easily!)
Spade crimp connectors and some solder... total time I guess about 5 hours.

Here is a few photos of the steps involved. The feed is on an Ign Live, with a switch in the center roor console bit, so I got control.

    Love the pic above......!

    Whatdya think?????
