2.2 Direct Gearbox

Is it possible to put the 2.2 Direct 6 speed gearbox from the facelift in my pre facelift to replace my 5 Speed?

Also what would be involved and i dont want to hear its not worth it as its not what im asking

Only complication i can see is my reverse is the bottem right IIRC how bad that cant even remember

it's possible, but how much time you'd need to spend on tech 2 i'm not sure.

Would it need a Tech2? What sensors etc actually come form the gearbox if it's a manual...?

I'm pretty sure there's some torque limitation in 1st gear (definitely feels that way, anyway) and i believe the sensor for reverse gear is in the box. I would expect the car to still run with a swapped box, you may just have an error code displayed.

Vocky swapped his 5 speed to a 6 speed on his Z22SE VX220 over on the 2.2 site mate. Wasn't a straight swap like, he had to use Honda parts I believe but that might be due to the VX220. Pop over and see if they can help mate. I cant really see any problems TBH. Think that could be the Chop Shops biggest job ever LOL
