    Default insurance question...

Just had my renewal through from directline which is almost £20 a month more than I was previously paying. problem is I have got a claim going through at the moment from a hit and run incident... can I leave them whilst this is being sorted?

I believe you can,at the time of the incident you where insured through DL,and the claim starts from that point onwards.

phone em and ask why policy increased etc etc - should reduce your policy - stay with them till sorted then foxtrot oscar to someone cheaper - you will still have to declare the hit and run which no doubt would increase the policy - but not by as much as direct line will bump it by

You may be able to swap but I personaly would stay, once the claim is settled and if you are not at fault then you can reclaim your additional premium as this will have been added due to temp loss of no claims.
