    Default fuel filter problem

    could anyone please help.
a guy changed my fuel filter today when i picked car up it was very sluggish. the aa came out and turned a screw under the fuel filter no fuel drained out you could just here air and gurgling. he couldn't find the problem. when he removed the inlet hose it would not start again. when he left i had a look the inlet hose seems not as tight as the outlet hose could it be this. anyway i pushed the hose in out where it was moving and the engine fired up car is running but very underpowered any ideas would be appreciated.

The system is supposed to be 'self-bleeding', this is achieved by starting the car and then running it at a high tick over until the enging runs smoothly.

Be carefull with bleeding a DTi. The pumps are not up to the task of bleeding the system and a will break if the engine keeps getting turned over. Use a bulb pump or similar to purge the system first.
