Stereo - sound intermittently breaking up

I have a 2004 Sri 2.2 Direct.When I turn my stereo up to a "quite loud" the sound tends to break up a bit.The dealer fitted a new CD player but still the same.thought it may have been a "safety issue" but then again...........Anyone else had this

Normal on mine and all the Astra's and Vectra's we have CD30's.

The amplifier in the stock headunit isn't upto it at a guess.

Yes, this happens on my CCr2006, its just a gentle reminder not to blow your ear drums out.
