Default Clutch - Getting into Gear

The last few mornings, I have been having terrible trouble getting into gear, I know the 'C' hasnít got the silkiest gear box, but Jesus, I nearly have to hang out of the gear handle to select gears. The problem seems to gradually sort itself out on the 30 min drive to work. I don't know if itís the clutch, gearbox or just the weather!!

sounds like you need to get your clutch slave cylinder bled + check brake fluid level as it feeds clutch too the fluid works better when it gets hotter thats why on the trip it gets better, prob just needs bled

Thanks alexgrfc, sound like some good Info - I have a fair idea what is required to be done, but if you had any more information it would be great. (Exact Locations, types of equipment - thanks).

the slave cylinder is at the top of the gearbox isnt that hard to get to the bleed nipple ,you can buy a self bleeding kit from halfords and follow the instructions or do it the old way with a piece of hose and a bottle then have someone pump the clutch pedal till the air gets out

Just wondering alexgrfc, if you have this problem youself? Does the 'C' give this sort of trouble often?
    Thanks again.

Default thank gawld it's not me going crazy then

We bought Victoria in April, within days we contacted the garage about the catching of the gears between 2nd and 3rd when the engine was cold.

When we finally managed to secure a courtesy car they took it in and decided it was the flywheel!

    Flywheel replaced.

Picked up car, absolutely no different than when we took it in.

We read this post and when we took the car back in yesterday we told them what had been posted here. Have they sorted it...............NO So we are going to print the responses off and take it to them to see if they can comprehend it in writing
