    Default A702

Does anyone know if the A702 from the Edinburgh City By-pass (A720) to the M74 (via Penicuik and Biggar) is dual carriageway? I need to get down to the M6 from Fife and was wondering what route was quickest. Any suggestions welcome! Cheers.

Nope, its not a dual carraigeway, but it's the quickest route for me when im travelling down to the in laws at Gretna . Its a got a few bad bends on it but its a fairly fast road with lots of straights for passing, but watch out for the speed cop/traps. Its one of their fav roads for catching speeders

Only other real alternative is head for Stirling, Cumbernauld, then down to M74 and head south. I think your original route would be quicker even allowing for the fact that there is no dual carraigeway worth talking about on that route.
3.2 v6 Signum and loving it

I think the quickest route is the motorway, it's the route I always use.

From Cupar I'd head out through Auchtermuchty to the M90, South across the Forth bridge, West along the M8, South down the A/M74 to the M6. Not the shortest but I think the quickest.

A702 definitely not dual carriageway. used to live in Pencuik and headed down to M74 that way. Good road if you don't get stuck behind a truck.
