    Default 2005 SRi Airbags

    Hi

I have an 05 SRI and wondered why it has no airbags in the pillars either side of the windscreen. It does have airbags in the seat sides and at the top of the centre pillar.

    Thanks

Bl**dy hell. They may 'argue' that the 'superior chassis' is the reason for not having TC, but WTF is there excuse for that!!!

You're quiet right! Looked at the spec for an 05 model, as well as facelift, and it's still a standard feature across the range (curtain airbags).

So why would they do that then? - remove the little bit that says 'Airbag' on the pillar trim? Starts to make people think that they haven't got them, as well as making us modders think it's okay to go piling in behind trim panels thinking that there's no airbag there!!

Its down to who can supply the parts the cheapest , vauxhall have obviously changed suppliers , the same plug on the new astra is a nasty thing and breaks nearly every time you go to remove it . i have super glue in my toolbox for such an occasion !!!!

If you want cost cutting get a ford , they are bad for it . build a car that handles well , load it full of kit then slowly and sneakily takethe little thing out making the whole thing feel cheap .

This is the reason i have gone for a totally different model in the Vauxhall line up. Liked the new Vectra but couldn't face the massive spec drop compared to mine.
