Unhappy Limp Home Mode - K&N Filter to Blame?

Hi, hoping someone here can help. Last Friday I fitted a K&N panel filter to my 2.0 DTI. Over the weekend I've just been pootling around and the car has been running fine. Last night (Monday) I opened it up on a dual carriageway and when I hit 4K rpm I lost power and the spanner symbol appeared in the display. From here on the car was gutless and wouldn't rev over 3K rpm. This morning the car ran fine and no fault display, later today I decided to give it some welly but as soon as I got up to 4K rpm it went into limp home mode again

So is it the K&N filter or is this just a coincidence?

    Thanks for any advice...

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 30mins, then reconnecting it?
The ECU will have to learn the new filter specs etc.

Hi mate, i have the same problem. its nothin to do with the filter. its the Turbo pipe which goes from the EGR valve to the intercooler which should have a rip or hole in. will need to get this replaced. its a common fault! second time its happened to me. pipe cost around £60

Not wanting to complicate matters but I also had an oil & filter change done on Monday morning but I can't see that it would have an adverse affect?? Surely even formula 1 autocentre can change a filter & oil without f**king things up??

Ok mate first things first check all your vacuum hoses are connected properly , with an air filter change on a dti itr is easy for the vacuum hoses to be pulled and dislodged , make sure the hoses have been put back in the right place , unbeleivable i know but they did it to me . on top of that check the intercooler hoses are tight as well . if you need any more info just ask

its right under the engine cover. take it off and its the rubber pipe on the right hand side. the EGR valve is just at the bottom of the engine cover and the pipe coming out from the right
