    Default 1940's Stearman Bi-Plane

Spent last two days helping future father in law carry out an annual inspection on this beast. It's an early 1940's Stearman fabric covered bi-plane with a 450bhp radial engine.

No me neither, did get offered, but kindly declined. Did however help push a spitfire out of its hanger today, it was a model previously owned by Rolls Royce and has a 2,050bhp engine and it went from East Midlands to Northolt, London and back in about an hour!

I know a bloke who rebuilt one of those and was there when it was fired up for the first time in 5 years.Got my hands on with it as well helping her to fire up.She was run on full power while chained to 2 large case tractors and she was pullling like mad at one point. Was excellent to see her take off for the first time. She was owned by a man called Peter Scott of Scottair
