You got a linky to give folks further info to see if they can help. Also, what browser are you using.

Urrr not great with pc's mate, but ill try to explain more:

When i try to download jave / mirc off a radio site i am told i do not have either, so when i try to download i get a pop up box come up with "plugin finder service" it tells me to click the box to install "java runtime enviroment" plugin, so when i do another box comes up saying i have to download manually, i press this button and up pops a download box which says the file is a binary file

Its trying to Download from: http://sdlc-esd.sun.com thats whats in the box, when i download it and open all i get is the 1100011111000011110000 stuff, with no other options to download.

Inm using firefox if that helps, someone did say it could be how im downloading ie: ive told the pc to download everything in binary form.......

Have you tried just downloading straight from the Java site? http://www.java.com/en/download

The fact that it's a binary file shouldn't be an issue, as that's what it is. Is it giving you an option to chose the location to save it and the file name? It should be a .exe file that it saves it as.

You say that you've set the PC to always download as binary. Where have you made that setting?
