Unhappy 150 cdti 1000 rpm missfire

As the title says really, I have a facelift 150 sri, just recently it has developed a missfire just above tickover (1000-1200 rpm) more noticeable when blipping the throttle. I had a new dmf about 10k ago so I think I can rule that out. Next I had the injector plugs changed and he checked to see if it needed a new ecu d/l but it did not. I have now been shown the swirl valve actuator and number 4 pot is gunked up slightly so it has been suggested that the manifold, actuator and egr is replaced. What I want to ask is, is this likely to be the cause? (the tech 2 on the egr showed 99% one way but nly 50% the other, he said it was acceptable but would recon my one) my mechanic would not commit too much and obviously I as I am paying for it all (out of warranty) I want the most cost effective resolution. up to now the car has been faultless but this has really naffed me off, so much so I have been considering an alternative manufacturer. I have trawled the forum but have not been able to find much more info regarding the manifold fixing this? any idea's appreciated.

    Hi sshooie

My mate reckoned he had a problem last week and it was just the load of the aircon pulling the revs down at tickover, not that is it?

    hi Neil,
thanks for the reply but I have eliminated the ac, although when it's on the revs rise a little as they are supposed to and make it appear worse!

Hi Rob, when he tech 2'd the egr he said he was not too concerned but I have been given a price to include a recon egr (I assume he means a cleaned one for an additional £40.00) but as the swirl tops are being done I have asked him to do this at the same time. I did think just to have the egr done but the manifold will need doing in the near future so I have asked for both at the same time.

Mine has started to suffer this (Yes I know my first 1.9 fault in 4 different 1.9's and 200,000 miles!)

It goes in on Monday but it is thought to be a faulty injector. The 1.9's injectors are 2 stage, one cycle for tick over and just above and a second cylce for full throttle.

They are going to pressure test the injectors and then take them out and have them fully checked.

There is a new EGR software upgrade that is soon to hit the dealers.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Sounds like the usual 3rd injector problem to me.... and with yours being a 2005 it won't have the updated loom either.

Try whipping the 3rd injector plug off, spray some contact cleaner in it, then connect and disconnect it a few times, then leave it on - should make it better (this would only be a temp fix though and more than likely would return - you should get the field kit to replace the injector plug - about £15 from VX).

Vauxhall had a loom fix for injectors. They supply gold plated connectors for this.

This is interesting on the new EGR software... Lemme know when it hits and what it does pls matt. Also while yer in there, ask em if a faulty injector can cause blue smoke for about 30secs or so on startup idle, but then fine for rest of the day
Plasma's Tech2 services are now partially open and able to provide services

Yes it can, as mine did that sometimes before I changed the plugs.
