Not sure on saloon mate but hatch can be an arse to do depends whether its enclosed or not if it is enclosed you will have to either drill to holes to access the torx nuts holding the light in (think the pilot holes are marked) or get something flat enough to slide under brake light to release the metal clips

    Cheers Ben.

Sorry mate, i thought they'd all be the same. I was fortunate when i removed the clear one to swap for the SRI style that i could literally squeeze the clips together and push the whole thing outwards, it came out in 30secs.

As above then mate, if its not exposed sounds like either a drill out job, or gently going behind the lense to pop the clips. I'll have a look/search and see if i can find another method to help you out mate.

Going to have to either drill through the boot panel or break it out unfortunately mate. I recommend the latter.

So I can just gently lever it out from the outside and that will give me access to slot the new one in?

Might be best holding new one up against old one so it gives you an idea of where the clips are then get a flat knife or some fuler gauges and gently free the clips
