    Default Gearbox Oil Leak

While under my car yesterday undoing the sump nut I caught a glimpse of an oil stain on part of the underside of the engine bay. Had a closer look today and it looks like it's coming from the driveshaft seal - inboard end according to Haynes.

Does anyone have experience of this on theirs and know roughly how much it costs to fix? Cheers!

yep i hed the same problem on mine when i had the alternator fix they damaged the seal, the seal was i think £6 something and you might need some gear box oil to unless you save the fluid you get there

Blimey, I reckon I can stretch to £6

But...how do you get the new seal in there - it's not £100's to get it fitted is it?

first thing got to take the wheel off then you got to take the drive shaft out to that where you got to try and catch the gear box oil so if you feel confident to do it the fire away but if not then a garage joby

Well if it's something I could do at home with maybe a lil difficulty, then I guess it's easy for a garage so they shouldn't charge shedloads. I was having visions of gearbox having to be removed! Cheers for your help Mate.
