Default Climate Control / High Air Conditioning Temperatures

With Summer looking like it has finally arrived and a few months into my purchase of a MY 2008 Vectra C Estate everything seems to run fine except the air-con, to my hand it just doesn't seem cold at all.

My previous car on the lowest setting (Mondeo from 2001) the cold setting on the air conditioning was extremely cold probably around 5c which was great in Summer but not so good when the kids had been playing with the dail in winter ...

Anyway I was out today and the Ambient outside air temp was 23c. I had the Climate Control at first set on 16c and then on 'Lo' and then I turned off Climate Control to pure Airconditioning full 'Lo' with fans on speed 7 - outcoming air was anywhere from 24-26c when I measured it with a tempature probe connected to my multimeter.

Now I could expect that after just getting into the car but this was after a 40 miles journey and beside that the cool air in the ford was pretty much immediate.

I guess there is something wrong with either the ECC or Air-con but was just looking for soe confirmation from some facelift owners as to the temps coming from their ECC / Air-conditioning units before I take it to the stealers.

    Any comments appreciated - TIA

Just had mine regassed at kwik fit for £45,at the time they did it,which was last sunday, using there temp meter it was down to 5c,but noticing yesterday it seemed to be not so cold,so i checked it with my multi meter temp probe, and it only got down to 9c so i'm just as baffled as you are...if you come up with anything let me know...cheers.

    Definitely a regas required.

Mines a 54 plate, had it since it was 11 months old and it's like Siberia in this weather.

I do use my aircon all year, even just for 5 minutes every week all year just to keep it in top shape.

Been out in my 06 Vectra Elite for an 80 mile drive today. Had the climate control set on 18 deg C. Any colder and I would have had penguins hammering at the door to get in.

Thanks guys ... phoned the dealer who sold me the car and I am just within the warranty period by 1 day (31st May ) and he has agreed to test, service and refill it as he agrees with you guys that there is a major issue with the temps - Thanks for all your help!
