Default astra vxr engine in my vec yay or nay?

as above is this conversion possible as ive looked into geting 240bhp from my z20net and it would take many £000s so i wonder if this conversion is more feasible, what yous think?

If you can get 340bhp from the Saab 2.0t why can't you get 240bhp from yours?? Check Abbott racing see if they can helpthat may be my next port of call

sounds like more than remaps like uprated components all over the engine from the exhaust all the way to the front an then it might add up

In addition the Z20LEH engine in the Astra VXR is Vauxhall's own jobbie and a million miles away from the Z20NET and is regarded as more tunable than the Z20NET, partly because so little work has been done to maximise the tuning potential of the Z20NET.

Also consider that BSR can tune the non-VXR 2 litre turbo engines that were in the Astra from 170 or 200bhp to 240 bhp in a single stage remap without changes to ancilliaries like exhaust and engine components.

The same will allegedly be the case with the different strengths of the 1.6 turbo engines tuning them up to 240bhp or even higher in a single stage.

Its the exact same hardware as in the Saab, but the management is different and the Saab tuners have developed the Saab conversions more than the Vauxhall tuners have done to the Z20NET.

The Z20NET is good for 300/330bhp before the internals need changing.

The Astra Z20LET as found in the Astra G GSi and Zafira A GSi can be taken to 240bhp with just a re-map.

In the Astra H, the 170PS Z20LEL and 200PS Z20LER are idenditcal to the Z20LET with different mapping to produce 170 and 200PS respectively.

So as said, all three specs of this engine can be taken to 240bhp. They also can be taken to 290bhp with a VXR turbo, re-map, exhaust, intercooler and VXR injector rail

The best kept secret is the Astra H and Zafira B's Z20LEL and Z20 LER. If you fit the turbocharger and injector rail from a Z20LEH VXR engine, you can programme the car as a VXR with TIS and Tech 2.

The VXR engine (Z20LEH) is identical to the LEL, LER and LET but has high yeild forged pistons with teflon coats, under piston oil spray jets for cooling, but the compression ratio is identical to the other engines. So programming it up with Vauxhalls software will make it run and drive exactly like a VXR.

The higher spec engine components in the Z20LEH were done to pass durability testing.
