    Default New Headlights

    Hi Guys.

I just fitted some new headlights to my car, i had the chrome ones which have been replaced with the smoked SRI headlights. Its now all fitted but i think i have as problem. I havent really noticed a slight gap between the bottom of the headlight and the bumper before.. there is an approx 1.5 cm gap! surely that cant be right? The bumper is properly secure with all the screws.. Can anyone help?

Have you put the plastic rivets in the top centre of the bumper, where it slots into the plastic bit riveted onto the top of the crash bar? Also the 4 push rivets underneath the car?

Next thing I'd say to do is take off the bumper again, is loosen off the 3 of the bolts that hold the headlamp in place and try to get the headlamp to sit as plush and low as possible to the wing...then tighten up.

I noticed the gap your talking about when I replaced mine, thats how I sort of resolved mine. Still have a gap, just not as big.

Also, is the bumper seatted fully in the bumper guides on the outer wings?

    Thanks for the reply guys!

I agree it would help if i had a picture, well ive finished modding my car for now and im going to put pictures of the finished product hopefully tomorrow! incidentally i put the irmscher grille with the alu strip and oh my days is it worth every penny or wot! looks brilliant!

    Anyway back to the toppic,

    - 2 platic rivets intact on the top bumper
    - 4 push rivets all secure underneath the car
    - the bumper clipped in in all places.. i.e. into the bumper guides
    - 2 screws secured on both sides of the arches
    - 3 bolts on each headlamp nice and tight and sitting flush (can tell from the seals between headlamp to the body

gap still their.. not that noticable when stood up, but definatly 1 cm.. i mean if your eye is close right next to the bumper you can see through the gap!

really dont know why i have this gap, maybe ive always had it but never looked close enough? i suppose no harm can be done with the gap?

I took the bumper off to fit some LED fog lights, only cost £15 from ebay which including everything from fuse to switch etc ( suggested by someone on this forum.., results are fantastic! will put up pictures hopefully tomorrow.

Thats a good point, did they come with the rubber surrounds that go around the headlamp?

I was thinking of the same thing, but my old lights had rubber surrounds on the top and the sides of the headlight but not at the bottom where it meets with the bumper, even the new lights ( bought off this forum) did not have any sort of surround on the bottom... does that mean im missing rubber surrounds on the bottom?

It should just be a single piece that goes around the headlamp. So that basically rules that one out...
