    Default A Drop of Mobil1

Spent an hour and a half changing the oil this morning, had the car just under a year and the selling dealer did a service as part of the deal, but I reckoned they wouldn't have bothered to use the oil that lasts 20k, just the stuff that has to be changed every year.

Decided to treat the old gal and splash out on Mobil1 instead of the GM stuff. The oil that came out looked to be in not bad shape, still more brown than black. Put the new stuff in, then went for a 10 mile jaunt to see if I could spot any improvement for my £50 outlay.

What a difference!! Never imagined that taking out oil that still looks ok and putting in new stuff could make the car feel so much better. It's soooo much smoother than before, and the grumbling you get when you're in too high a gear around town has all but gone. Now I know why Mobil1 costs more than liquid platinum!

I know that kwikfit would do an oil change for the same that I paid, maybe even a bit less, but the ones near me are such muppets it's unbelieveable. They stand behind their counter with their filthy hands (they haven't worked out how gloves work yet) and reach out for your keys, and you ask 'em "Are you going to work on my car yourself", when they say yes you have to point out that they need to put gloves on and use a seat protector, and they grumble under their breath that you're being fussy. 90 mins working in the sun this mornin' saved me all that hassle.

I have put mobil 1 in both Mine and the wifes Vectra,s. I think it is good stuff. When I bought the mobile 1 from my local motor factors ( I did get it trade, but then I do the VX stuff). I got it a whole lot cheaper than the VX 5w30 fully synthetic oil.
