Default 2.2 DTI engine shake on switch off.....

    Hi All

just wondering if this is normal? The car runs great, no problems AT ALL, but when I switch off the engine the whole car shudders as the engine switched off. Had the bonet open and watched the engine when I switch off and the engine does shake quite a lot on switching off... IS THIS NORMAL??

    Thanks
    Pete

My old DTI used to shake slightly when switching off, it never got worse over 14 months and 31k miles, I would say it's a trait of your engine.

ive got a 2.0DTi and it has done this since ive bought it. even went to the dealers about it. they said to not worry as its just, the engine has such a high compression ratio theres a lot of pressure and momentum in the engine when it stops. apprenltly to stop all it does is cut the fuel. they said its normal as long as it doesnt do it exsessvly and by that they mean it thrashes about and usually breaks somthing in the prossess lol.

mine does it on startup as well. if its that bad just wip to the dealers and thell check it out for you
