Default fuel economy, turbo lag and egr

right i have done 720 miles in my vectra using 89.53 litres of diesel (19.72 gallons) of this mileage i did 120 miles on a roads,150 miles on the motorway doing 65mph,the rest urban,my average mpg works out at 36.51mpg.
i now have another problem,i have a lag just as the turbo starts to cut in at 2k revs, not always but it can be annoying,it is worse when old.also wheb i had my tuning box fitted (i took it off over a month a go) when the engine was hot i would get a symptom like the engine cutting out for a micro second, this would do it several times and only while cruising, hence why i took it off,i dont know if the DPF would have an affect like this (the box has been set up for a DPF),so what i am trying to find out is,would a faulty EGR valve cause this? i have no EML lights coming on,i stripped the EGR valve down last year, apart from a lot of carbon i found nothing wrong, everything was working as it should be.

I would say 31mpg is def lower than it should be, even though most of your mileage has been urban I'd expect it to be 35-37mpg at least.
