    Default Headgasket gone on 3.0CDTi

Ok this is it. It's officially ending its pitiful existance.
The headgasket is almost certainly gone. I'm losing coolant and there are bubbles coming out of the hose going back into the header tank.

    Kill me...

Which one is it? And would you get both done at the same time?

Think of a reasonable figure and treble it.

Owning one of these V6's without a warranty cover is not an option as far as I'm concerned.Less than a pound a day for peace of mind.

I just got the head hasket done on mine, luckily i had a warranty with the car and they picked up the bill. It was with VX for a week, without a doubt this will cost you a fortune im afraid.

Every engine has its faults. Mine has 155k, almost 156k now, and before I bought it, it was being driven for 3months in -15°C weather every day for about 3miles/day...I suspect that's why one of the head gaskets has given up. It had 148k when I picked it up.

This car is seriously starting to pi55 me off! Coolant is now on a steady level...
I still have to open up the engine and see which head gasket is f****d up. Other than that it's running superbly, apart from the turbo lag, still returns more than 50mpg...

My rear bank was the culprit, i have to hand it to mine aswell it ran well when it was blown. I only noticed the difference once it was repaired and felt a difference in smoothness of power take up etc.

I'm suspecting the rear bank too...
Decided to take care of the stone chips and scratches first. Then I'll just see how it runs and sell it as it is....

If you do a compression test and a coolant sniff test, I am sure you will both confirm a head gasket leak, and also which cylinder(s) are compromised.
