Default Got A Right Shock When Fitting New Springs

Got my new Eibach springs yesterday from LMF ordered them on Tuseday and they was here for Wednesday morning first thing.Got the time today so I dug out my spring clamps and set about the job.I knew I had one broken rear this is why I was doing it but got a shock when I did the rest of them.Everyone was broken virtualy in the same place, the bottom seating coil.I was gobsmacked as the car was still driving ok.It just shows how poor the original springs are as my car has only done 43000 miles.Anyone reading this just take note you may have a broken spring and not know anything about it at all. Will put up a report as to how they have changed the car and some pics when they have settled down.Going to Blackpool at the weekend so will get some pics there.Looks better already as it has sat the car lower without going to mad which is what I wanted.

Not just Vauxhall mate, The mechanic who MOT'd mine yesterday had a top of the range Volvo in, first MOT, and one of the springs had snapped on that too

Strange thing with the pieces he handed back to me off mine, they are identical breaks on both sides of the car, same size, same angle.... something aint right with the quality of these springs

A friend of mine does MOTs and says that broken springs are by far the most common cause of failures. He reckons it's a combination of broken road surfaces and potholes and the proliferation of speed bumps.

I suspect the fact that cars are much heavier and have firmer springs might also be a contributing factor.
