Default 1.9 CDti 150 starting noise

I assume all these sound like petrol engined sports cars when starting them.....shame they then sound like a tractor.

Did GM/Fiat really design them to sound like this during turnover?

The CDTi 150 is renowned for being a noisy engine. All reviews i read commented about this. Did'nt put me off though as you can't hear it from inside anyway.

No...I am a bit scared to....I assume you can just unplug in the event it needs a service or warranty work. What difference does it make to insurance prices and which box would people recomend?

I would recommend the box i'm gonna be selling in about 1 weeks time lol.

People find certain boxes work better with their car than others. I have a Diagnostixs CR2 digital unit. But other swear by Powerclick red or greens. red being for max mpg, and green being max power i believe. Or the crd version i think is just all out power??

I'm sure someone will be out there to shoot me down in flames lol.

It's so simple to remove prior to any work being done and takes 30 secs. As far as insurance is concerned, there have been posts on this with people quoted anything from £0 to approx £40 extra to add the box.

If you look in the for sale section, Tim2100 is selling his CR1 box as he has sold his veccy. HERE. £100 Bargain and will give you around 185-190 bhp.

Yes mate, they are quite noisey on start up, but they do get quieter when they warm up. Even so there are several diesels that are much quieter on tick over, even when warm.

The wierd thing is it all reverses once on the move. Once you reach 3rd gear & above the engine is virtually silent.

The turbo gives a nice whistle as well, sounds great when you boot it.
