Default best deal for a new fiesta (for my parents)

    Hi All,

Looking for a bit of help on a dark side question.

My dad has always been a fan of fiestas and is looking to replace the 02 1.4 lx they have at the moment.

They don’t do many miles – but the almost new route is not an option (they want new). My dad has had a classic car since the early 60s' (Vogue Singer Sunbeam Estate – salon version attached – which is in good condition) – which he wants to use for the old car trade in.

He has been offered £4.5K trade in for the combined cars against a top of the range 1.4 5 door ztec fiestas starting at £13,520 – leaving £9,020 to pay.

The above seems pretty dear to me, especially since they would be happy with a lower spec model.

They want a 1.4, 5 door in silver (not bothered about spec), and the exam question is where is the best place to buy a new fiesta in Scotland, with a trade in. Any links would be much appreciated.

I’m trying to talk him out of selling the classic but he is attracted by the old car trade in option.

    Cheers

he has looked after that motor for many years, just tell him they will just squash it into a square! that should put him off!! wait a bit, till the mass's have grabbed what they can, im sure the prices of cars will drop back down. the dealers have wacked on the extra££££ to make up for what they are giving away!!

been there, done that. I think he wants to make sure he never sees it again, if/when he does not own it.

Hi Dose, itís not an easy one to explain - itís not just the money value of the car. He has had people interested in buying the car when he has had it at shows but never sold it.

Iím sure this is a way for him to get rid of it and not think about someone else owning.
