    Default No power until 2,500rpm

Hi folks, hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on my problem. I have virtually no acceleration until the rev counter hits 2,500 rpm then the car drives fine. It is a 1.9 cdti 150. I have tried cleaning the EGR valve, but this made no difference. There are no fault codes showing either! Any ideas? Thanks in advance,

    Dave

Default how to clean z19 egr valve (proper method)

Did you clean both sides of the EGR Valve? The solenoid side seams to be the issue. You have to split the valve then you have to drill a 3mm hole in the black plastic cap and knock out with a punch then clean, greese and re-assemble. It has solved so many peoples problems I would try this next.

There is a very good how to on it just search for "how to clean z19 egr valve (proper method)" .

In fact here is the link. http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45867

Maybe someone's swapped your engine for my 1.8 petrol LS! Although that's got no power anywhere in the rev range!

Once you remove the EGR valve gently push the spindle in the middle in. If it moves in smoothly and then release straight away without getting stuck then the solenoid is ok.

If the inlet manifold is clogged up and or the link bar has come off, and the flaps are stuck in the wrong position this would have an effect on take off pull/speed

    Thumbs up

I removed the EGR valve, again, and cleaned it, also used some WD40 on the soleniod \ plunger, also cleaned the boost sensor which was badly gummed up with oil and stuff.
This cured the problem, but I suspect it was mainly the EGR valve, so at the weekend I will follow Keithsimmo's instructions and open the soleniod up to lub it properly.
Thanks for the help ( especially the pic's on how to clean the soleniod \ plunger )

    Cheers
