fuel pump broke

Ok guys a quick heads up for you guys running the 19cdt 150i.Mines is a 04 plate had it from brand new and to be fair it hasnt missed a beat until lastweek.No warning lights nothing normal routine started up drove to the end of my st and she cut out.Couldnt get her going again.Checked everything and been on tech 2.Guess what diesel pumps gone in the engine.Its done 58ooo miles ive ran her on a cr1 module for3years without a hitch.Now hears the bad bit.My local stealer wants 1500 quid for a new pump.No way i went down another route.There is a guy in Blackburn called diesel Bob who can recon my old one for 195 quid with a years warrenty.So just a wee heads up if it ever comes to you fone Diesal Bob .

HHHMMMMM Am not convinced it was the cr1 module.Just to clear that up if any of you have a box in.She was running at 192b/h/p and going like a train.Spoke to Bob and hes telling me hes getting more and more of the cdti pumps failing.

But the box ups the pressure in the feul rail, what do you think makes the pressure raise? errrrrm, the pump!

Wheres the proof.Fact the box makes the engine run better.It did on mine anyways.Not every pump he gets in has had a box on it.So will get back to you when he opens the pump for an over haul and see what the S/P is.Am still not convinced it was the box that caused it.
