I know how you feel. I've just forked out £190 for a year. All because my 19s were factory fitted.

As an aside issue. I contacted What Car mgazine about this and they've replied to me twice. They took the trouble to take up the case and have been dealing with DVLA. Not bad service. Worth getting in touch with them if you've got a problem.

Yep. Normal tax band for 2.2 direct is £150. Because it had 19s fitted at the factory, it knocks it up to £190.

They've decided the CO2 emissions go up from 185 to 187. Which just happens to knock it up into the higher tax band.

I may as well get a V8 and pay the same.

Had this discussion with mrs GSi last night.. It's nearly not worth buying a 2.2 anymore.. you can have a v6 for the same road tax..

Nope. What car took up this issue for me. The C02 rate is fixed for the life of the car. Lesson learned. If you buy a new car don't spec factory fitted 19s. It WILL affect your tax. Put them afterwards

The amount of people in the Post office on saturday being asked to stump up more cash than it said on their reminder was appaling! The que was out the door while people fannied around trying to scrape more change together.

I got charged £2 less for the missus' Punto. First bit of luck all year!!
