    Default Lucky escape!

I left home on Saturday morning, to find broken glass all over mine and next door's drive.
Luckily for me, it was my next door neighbour's Signum, rather than mine, that had been broken into. They'd screwdrivered the passenger side window and emptied his glove box, but didn't take anything. The alarm went off, but they're pretty feeble, so he didn't notice.
Amazingly, the Police actually responded, so I asked the Scenes Of Crime officer why they'd gone for his (55 reg, 1.8 Elegance) rather than my (04 reg, 3.0 Elite) Signum. The answer was interesting, to say the least. Apparently the junkies, sorry, unfortunate victims of narcotic abuse, who do most of the car break-ins are aware that a lot of new VX's come with a free Tom Tom, which generally lives in the glove box. So they go and have a look, in the hope that their next fix might be in there.
If you've got a Tom Tom, beware!

yeah, the police made an appeal kind of thing before xmas to remove your mounting brackets and clean the sucker marks. As said, they know that most people will probably just bung the sat nav in the glovebox when they arrive at their destination.

I dont use my Tom Tom anymore, just rely on the in-car sat nav...

It always worries me though that my last 30 destinations are recorded on the sat nav including my home address. If they stole my keys whilst out, they could get back to my house quicker than I could and burgle the place clean....

    I agree Spoons,
I do not keep my home address on the sat nav for the above reason you have mentioned...... dont make it easy for them....
