    Good start but I would prefer the header and footer to be the same size as the main area in your case 900px.

    I dont like criticising someones work, I can build websites but have to get someone to do the design work.
    Top banner pics look a littlle pixelated but fboth these and the buttons are fitting with the church theme.
    I would probably either centre the buttons and make them slightly bigger or find a few more options to bulk them out. Put the map on a contact us page and the calender in a calender or whats on, both needing buttons. The body looks a little busy and could do with defining, maybe break them up with text boxes or a scroll like squiggle.When checking for compatibility make sure it works on all res monitors and in large fonts too as I get the image elder people may go on from time to time. I know this seems a lot but pm me for any more help

    @JSYSH466Y;

    Excellent info, criticise away. I am by no means a designer more of programmer and not html.

    The church is looking to try and attract some new pople to it, hence the website. So i am trying to catter for both young and old. I understand what you mean by the larger fonts and resolutions.

    I am heading home jsut now so will be back on line latter to have a play with the layout.

    Keep the info comming..

    That's better.

    Try white background surround and the purple border. Also that coments field is a bit big.

    Hi TheWildHaggis

    A friend of mine does a bit of web stuff and uses http://validator.w3.org/
    to check for errors - I've no idea what any of it does but it may help?
