Need some advice guys have a read and let me know what you think….
Back in January while travelling clockwise on the M25 I was hit by a Polish HGV, well when I say hit it was more of a push as I think the drive may have fallen asleep….. I was in lane 2 and was almost past the wagon in lane 1 when I suddenly found the back of the car being push sideways in to lane 3 steering in to try and correct was fine until the driver realised what was happening and he pulled back in to his lane….. at this point I was at a 45 degree angle which caused me to do a complete 540 degree spin across all 5 lanes ending up facing the wrong way in the fast lane…..
Everyone managed to stop without hitting me including some guy in a Honda that managed to stop all of an inch from the front of my car (he looked more scared than I did).
Having got all the details from the non-English speaking driver including the green card insurance and the details of his company from the wagon i did a little investigating and got more details about the company and contacted my insurance company (More Than) spent 50 mins on the phone going through all the normal stuff.
The car was repaired within 4 weeks under my fully comp policy and I can’t complain about the service from the garage in fact it has been the only service I have had. I have never had any letter or phone call from More Than with regards to the claim or even that they have acknowledged the claim. I have phoned them on 5 occasions asking what is going on and every time I have been told “oh it just needs to be sent over to recovery”. The last 2 calls I have requested to speak to a manager and have been told that no one was available….. Im currently out of pocket by £250 (excess) and my renewal is due in 6 weeks…. Because of the above I don’t want to renew with More Than but will I every get my money back if I don’t and where do I stand with my no claims bonus?????
