probably tell the bank of there mistake
but a little part of me does not blame them for doing what they have done I might have been tempted myself if I could get away with it
Ring up the bank and then go to work.
I would certainly tell the bank that there was some sort of error. It would be unlikely that it would happen straight away, as it would probably take a few days for me to notice (at least), and then a few days to sort it, and with my admin fee taken and the whole thing earning interest for a few days (weeks) would earn me a bit of cash....
Not to inform the bank of an error would be theft
Based in BOE base rate of 0.5% you'd be looking at interest @ Approx £52/day.
Hoverever I'm sure they'd argue that you don't get the interest.
I think I'm right in saying that if it is in your account for 28 days then it's yours. My sister works for a bank and I'm sure that's what she said.
I think there was a film made witha title thats sums this up in a T! "Catch me if you can" I hate my bank and wonder why i'm with them
