paint matching

came back the other day to find that some ******** had left a lovely scratch along the side of my car, of course he hadnt stuck around to give me insurance details!

Ive had a couple of quotes for the repair, the first was about £700 from ooops and then the 2nd a much happier £330 for cash at a guy who has also offered to repair a couple of other scratches and a small dent at the same time all included in the price.

My only worry is how would he be going about matching the paint colour? Its a 4year old vectra c in metalic black (looks almost purple under the right light). he has said he will need to blend in an area of about 3 feet by 1 feet and that it will look fine. does this sound like an easy enough job to do? Any advice ?

I am not a sprayer but I do know this is pretty normal practice, I also wouldn't worry too much with a colour like black. If it were silver I'd be more worried as it's harder to get right. Lets face it, it isn't going to look worse than it does now?

hi mate i do spary cars for a living and have done for 14 years now if your car met black the code will be 20r saphire black, there will be up to 3 to 4 shaeds of this he will pick the best match so it will blend in the best,and if he is doing other work aswell it looks like you have had a good deal to me mate
