    Default Skipping cd's

    Hi
I am having big problems with my cdr2005 cd player. With every cd that it plays it is skipping every 3 or 4 minutes. It does it with both genuine and copied cd's. It is starting to drive me mad!!
Any advice would be gratefully received!
    Cheers

Is your car under Warranty? My old one had 3 stereos in 2 years.

Warranty ran out 3 months ago. May have to look on eBay then!

Do you really want a standard stereo? Have a look at the Kenwoods, I am tols they will intergrate with both the steering wheel controls and the remote display these days.

The cdr2005 is a pile of poop, get a decent aftermarket one from Alpine, Kenwood, Clarion or Pioneer.

Or even a CCR 2006 if you want to keep the 'standard' look - and you'll get a 4 CD changer to boot!

I got a 2006 in mine Dunc, and for a mth it played all discs fine, now it's decided one of the 4 is ok and it skips badly on the other three, gonna try the originals soon and a laser cleaner, if that dont sort it I'll be up Vx for a new one, mind you I picked a guy up on day who had trouble with one in an Astra van, Vx said it was the plaster he worked with had got in it and caused it to fail, wouldn't replace it either.

    Andrew
May be interested in yours if you still have it (what colour is it), as I would like to keep the 'standard look'. I'm going to try one of those disc cleaner things first and see how it goes.
    Cheers
