What does it do exactly for your car?
    And is there any benifits?

Is this the device that stores pressurised oil during normal engine running and then pre-pressurises the engine oil system before you next start it?

It basically stops the oily vapour that gets vented out from then being fed back into the inlet. Also, on a turbo car it stops oil vapour being fed into the compressor side of the turbo and into the intercooler, which can reduce the efficiency of the intercooler if too much builds up over time.

Works very well on the 2.2 Sean. Normally the oil vapor is feed into the intake via the little pipe from the cam cover to the intake pipe just after the MAF. As you know our TB's get covered is oily deposits, most of this is from the cam vent. The catch tank goes in between the Cam outlet/vent and the intake. The catch tank will "catch" any liquid oil and stop it going through the intake system. Its not really wise to have it vent onto the atmosphere like in the pic. Instead of the Filter, you should really have another pipe going back to the intake. This way any vapor is burned off, the intake vac will also help draw the vapor through.

    VENT PIPE
    INTAKE
    CAM BREATHER

You don't just put the tank in between, you mount the tank on the inner wing and obviously extend the pipework. HTH
