Default 1.9 150ps CDTi Power drop in first

    Hi

I have only had my 05 plate vectra SRi for a few days now but I have noticed twice when started from cold and pulling off in first the ECU I guess dumps all the power when acelerating hard. Once in second it is fine. For the rest of that journey it then appears to be fine in first. It's not the traction control, any ideas?

Just keep an eye on the rpm. As the others said, like all diesels it drops off sharply at the top.

Some other diesels drop off sooner & more suddenly, Ive driven the 2.0 VW/Audi one & it's a cracker but it drops off noticably quicker than the Fiat/GM one in the Vec.

There's no point in revving that high though, change gear & hit the next torque wave - It'll pull harder & save "thraiping" the engine.
