Default Disable Alarm On 05 Vectra.

    Hi Guys.
Does anyone know how to lock the Vectra without setting the alarm?
I thought that if you opened the windows using the remote that would automatically disable the alarm, but this does not work... it goes off... Poor dog ;-)

    Thanks!!!!

Yep, as andy says, you can either disable the internal sensors, but the alarm will still be set, or if you don't want the alarm set at all, reach in through another door, press the lock button on the drivers door (that's the one by the windows, btw, not the door pin) and exit out the door you reached in through.

Dave, what difference does it make pressing the central locking button as opposed to pushing down the door pin? If I reach in and depress the pin, all the doors lock, much the same as having pressed the central locking button, and I can then just exit the car.

Only reason I ask is that I can easily open the driver's side rear door and reach the door pin, but I can't reach the central locking switch without going away round to the other side of the car!

    Puppet,

on Vectra-C's from around 2005 (or slightly earlier/later) the central locking system changed. Pressing down the door pin on the drivers door only locks the drivers door. Same as if you lift it up when all the other doors are locked.

Says somewhere in the handbook that to lock all the doors you have to press the lock button on the elecy window/mirror panel.

You're probably one of the luckier ones who have a slightly older Vec-C that the central locking can still be operated by pressing or lifting the door pins.

    Thanks for the explanation.

My Vectra is an early C Model (2002) so what you are saying makes sense. Sounds like I can just happily reach in the back door if need be.

I found another way today. Open the drivers window. Reach in and press the lock button (or lock pin if the C/L operates from that). Then press the close window button and remove your arm before it gets trapped as the window goes up.

IMPORTANT Remember to remove your keys from the inside of the car first.
