Default Warranty almost up - What to check?

IVe booked my car in with a relation of my missus who works at a stealers in Birmingham. He's going to check it over for me, in his own time, as Ive only got 1500 miles before I hit the magic 60k. What sort of things in particular should I ask him to go over?

    EGR, Swirl Valves etc.

Id also like him to change brake pads and regas the air con which should be easy enough for him.

Any recomendation for things to check or ask to be done?

ask them to compelted a vehicle health check - this should take into consideration external inspections of the following
    brake/clutch and transmission operation
    check the engine for noises/smoke
check all the doors and locks work
check all the mandatory lights operate
check the operation of the horn and washers
underbonnet checks engine oil /antifreeze levels
water oil and fluid leak checks
check the condition of alternator/timing belt and battery condition

    brake master cylinder/servo for leaks
    pads discs and bearings
    hoses pipes and calipers

    then the exhaust system /cat
    steering and suspension
    and driveshafts etc

all of these should be compelted routinely during services - but most garages offer a health check or end of warranty inspection

they cannot actively look for warrantable work as they would be penalised by an auditor for doing this so the work must be driven by you ....

so the question is are there any noises / problems/ lack of performance issues that you know of

Thanks for that, looks like that would cover most things. No issues with her at all really, no smoke, performance is good and economy is fine. Fingers crossed they wont find anything.

On a side note, do people recommend 3rd party warranties? Id guess with the problems the CDTI150 can have it would be worth it. If thats the case any 3rd party recommendations?

dependant on the cost of the warranty - never hurts to hold a joker card in your hand - just in case

its sods law that you pay for a warranty and never need it
or dont and two months later a major component fails
