It's still at AP Motors Got a lovely mondeo to drive!! Down pipe is about 3 inches too short so won't fit onto exhaust!!! Phone call to Steve at LMF who phoned Jetex for us, 4-6 week wait on a exhaust Phone call to place AP use tomrrow at twelve a new one is being made for us. Can choose any tail pipe, and have it however loud you want and they'll play with it if you don't like the sound. And it's cheaper than Jetex!! Cooking dinner at the moment, Matt is out playing with a new space heater at his workshop with the camera so will update tonight the photos so far and whole story.

    thats a real shame

but if its easily resolved with a custom fit pipe - then so be it

good job you managed to get the initial bits a little cheaper from steve - then difference can go towards the costs of the retrofit

roll on tomorrow then .....bet you dont sleep much tonight

Well the day started at stupid o'clock, well about seven ish I think. Breakfast in bed by Matt (my turn tomorrow though ).

We set off but head to Halfords first as when we cleaned the car yesterday the mirror glass just fell out the casing in my hand!! Luckily I caught it and Halfords didn't have one so will glue the old one back in tomorrow. We then head off for AP Motors in Plymouth for the fun to begin . Got there and the guys are busy working on a huge 4x4 American thing and would take them up til lunch time to finish as they've been waiting on the part since Christmas, so we headed off to vauxhall for a new pollen filter and clip for rear wiper (cover's the nut), £10 later we walk out. Off round the corner to Turnbulls who specalise in stereo's, alarms etc to be nosey, bit expensive. Still too early to go back to go off to Halfords again as it's bigger than our local one and Maccy D's for lunch. Pollen filter gets changed in the car park while I try to find a wireless signal for the internet to no avail.

Back at AP they finish on the american pick up and we get the car on the rollers to see what it's running standard After taking out the fuse for traction control, car won't start. Try starting the car and pulling it out whilst running, just kills the car. Few scratches of the head ABS fuse comes out and bob's your uncle it works!

Car as standard is running 183 bhp and 203 torque.

5 minutes later and BSR unit plugged in, we thought the car was running at 243 horses

But it wheel spun so wasn't a true reading, another run later and it's running at 213 bhp and 235 torque.

Off the rollers and onto the ramp to figure out what needs to be un bolted for this downpipe and how the hell to get to some of the nuts. While waiting for it to cool down a bit the air box mod was done!

Eventually got the bolts undone after a few burnt fingers from it being so hot!! New one on and it's too short!!

Time to think, old one back on and wait or try get a new exhaust for tomorrow, yeah right!! Phone call to Steve, who phoned Jetex. Haven't got any and aren't making any at the moment, 4-6 week wait. Great now what do we do! Phoned longlife in Plymouth and said the situation. Make one for us tomorrow at noon, totally custom built from tailpipes to sound!! Woo hoo and they're cheaper than Jetex!

Few phones calls and we got our lift home!!

While we wait for one of the guys who's giving us a lift part of the way back we fit the brakes, my god they're huge. Brakes and calipers off and new one on and bleed within half hour!!

Will update tomorrow with the new exhaust!!!

(sorry if pictures are big, my laptop does not do photobucket and loses connection everytime I go on it!)
