cdti 150 anygood am worried

Hi All,
I have just bought a 2008 150 cdti vectra, looking at all these treads makes me think I made a big mistake.I bought it because it felt nicer to drive with more power than the mondeo. My old 04 mondeo has 125k mile and never given trouble,,,,
erg, manifolds,flywheels, injector leads etc, I dont want a money pit I cant afford it.

I had the same worries mate when i bought a 2007 model. I have now done 53,000 miles and it has never given me any trouble what so ever! (last famous words)

It seems to me alot of the problems were the earlier models re 3rd injector etc. I also think these cars need to be driven hard to stop the build up of cr.. within them. Mine gets a good thrashing through all the geras for 5 mins or so at least once a week

you might need to clean your EGR valve every 15,000 miles or so. 1 hour job, as simple as say changing spark plugs on a petrol. Put some Redex stuff in the fuel if you do a lot of short trips.

Dont worry, there is loads and loads of these engines, i would say the most popular on the site.

It's only those with problems who post them - you don't get all the other hundreds of owners posting saying they are problem free. I don'y know the percentage of those with problems out of all those 150 owners on the site or that as a percentage of all 150 owners UK or worldwide but I'm guessing it is pretty small.

You can't buy an engine on the basis it will never ever go wrong - you might as well walk or catch the bus...

ive had my 08 150 sri for 2 months,its been back to stealers for new injectors and its going back on Thursday because the mpg readout on dash is to low,its reading 34 mpg most of the time,yet i think im getting better than that.

oops!i forgot to say,but it still makes me smile when i put my foot down if a little boy racer is up my hoop in his badged up 1.1 twin cam 16valve twin turbo v6 gti sri v6 gsi max power car.LOL
