    Default broken shock

Traveled around 100 miles today, and i kept wondering what the clonking sound i could hear in my car was, sounded like something rattling.Went round the corner to arrive back home and something snapped and rolled into the middle of the road. Got out to pick it up , and it looks like a bit of one of the front shock springs has snapped clean off! WOW, thank the lord it didn't happen whilst i was travelling at speed along the motorway. Anyone seen this happen or had it happen to there car?

When i get a new-un put on, is it good practice to replace the pair, and can anyone recommend a decent pair of front springs for a 3.2 elite? Preferably ones that dont break in half going around corners.

Possibly just aswell to get lowered uprated ones mate. It's good practise to replace both fronts and the backs are very easy to replace. I fitted eibachs to mine and never looked back. 150 quid fitted myself

Didnt want anything too expensive (i.e. eibachs, they wanted near £200 for those), so i have ordered a set of weitecs with a 30mm drop. Hopefully these will work out ok.

    Hi all.
I have just joined the broken front spring club. The misses was reversing the car of the drive when what looked like a horseshoe shot out from under the car, just before the front tyre burst. O/F front spring is now wrapped around the strut and the end of it ripped the inside of a nearly new tyre completely around the circumference.
Vauxhall stealer says I need to get the car to them for invetigation, But they will not repair under warranty. 2004 1.9 cdti Signum with 65000 miles.
Vauxhall customer care were no help either.
This car has been nothing but trouble since I bought it 3 years ago.
Last year new rear radius arms, front ball joints, and air con rad. £1300.00
Just fitted new clutch and DMF £500.00 for parts. and now this.
Will Vauxhall take any responsbility for thier problems? NO.
I have e-mailed VOSA and waiting for thier reply.

    Pete
