    Default cd head unit

hi folk picking up my vectra tomorrow morning 9 am SHARP!

    cant wait!

    few Q. (again!)

in my astra i have a sony cd head unit with a ipod kit that chargers my ipod and lets me change songs via the steering wheel controlls or head unit.

i want to keep the original head unit in my vectra and just fit the ipod controller can anyone tell me if this is possible also does anybody have a picture of the rear of the head unit when its removed?

if i remove the power to the head unit will i need to put the code in to get it working again? if so my car is not coming with one, is there a cheap way of getting a code without going to vauxhall?

    thanks again folks!

As your vec is a facelift its going to be full canbus so it wont require a code mate. I think its the CD70 that has a aux in so it all depends what HU you have.

Its the type of electrical system flitted mate. Modern cars don't use the old type of ignition power, constant power and earth. The vec has something like 20 separate ECU's or modules that are all interconnected. To get extras working like retro fitted rear electric windows you have to go to dealers to get the module programed to work.
