my luxury 1.8 vectra has had a imission problem after fitting new cam belt crank belt and coolant sensors i still had a problem, so i took it to vauxhall to get to the bottom of the problem.
£75 to do a diganostis fault check, it came up with cam belt fault so changed it again but still the same problem,imision light stayed on, so then charged £70 hour to check all wiring looms this took 3 hours.
nothing all was ok so was told it must be the engine mangement unit system at fault (emu).
£693 to fit a new one ok i thought this could be the problem after picking myself off the floor.
one hour later was told they fitted the new unit but still the same fault came up !!!!!!! so further action needed but would put my old emc unit back on, ok i said to myself they know what they are doing after all its vauxhall.
then about two hours later was the dreaded phone call.
mr heath we found the problem the cam pully in the crank shaft has worn we can do a tempary fix at the cost of £380 which will solve the problem for now,(wait for it)but you really need a new crank shaft and cam pully but this means taking your engine out stipping it down and fitting the parts then putting your engine back in.
ok i said how much the reply £2500 that includes vat
my reply what the **** temp fix please
so what can i do????? is there anyone out there that can help me out here i feal ****ed and skint after paying out near £500 i feal so fed up but i love my car but where the hell can i get that sort off money from im so ****ed off

was told its the crankshaft thats ****ed inside needs a new one ?????

i put money on it not being the fault and they just using that as an excuse for for to say " dont worry, leave it i'll Px it"

******* stealers! Do you know anyone local who could help you out? Good ole fashion fault diagnosis is what you need, not some computer based crap that works from front to back, get someone with a bit of background knowledge next time. Regarding the fault mate im helpless, just hope you get it sorted

If its said problem with the crank damaged internally then yes the engine will need removed...but to be honest its false economy to do the job twice if the temp fix dont last to long...tbh i would trade it in!
