    Default Roof Mounted DVD

    All,

Can anyone offer me any advice on fitting of a roof mounted dvd. I have bought a Necvox 9" version. I have any idea of mounting the carrier plate to some mdf, what would be the best bonding agent to mount the mdf to the metal of the roof? The player comes with a plate that needs to be screwed home so mdf is the only solution as i cannot screw to the roof!

I can trim the roof lining no problem just wanting some tips and ideas from anyone who has done it or any ICE professionals on here.

    Thanks in advance,

    Paul.

it was not to bad it was just making sure it was in the centre for the kids to see it before i drilled the holes lol. it isnt motorized it just folds by hand less to go wrong with it imo. as to price got it of ebay a few months ago im sure i paid £56 a bargain . still got it to hook up to my head unit as ive still got the install to finish i will get some proper pics up shortly me hopes

Thanks for the reply David, but i still don't understand how you have secured the mounting plate in the roof lining. Is it bonded to the skin of the roof? Surely the head lining would sag with the weight if it's not secured to the roof?

Sounds like he sandwich'd the roof lining between the two Paul like I explained in one method I said about.

Yeh get you Ben, but it must be moving about up there? Gonna mount some mdf as you suggested, do you reckon just no more nails then? Had a look at the wiring for it and i need to tap in to the interior light plunger on the rear doors for the dome lights to activate. Then it's a matter of finding the nearest ignition and perm lives (if i need both)and connecting up.

    Cheers,

    Paul.
