    Default Help - can't undo locking nuts/how do you remove spinning collar?

    Just been to frauds for my caliper paint and cleaner, got back home so i thought id remove a wheel and have a look. Thought id loosen nuts ready for jacking, but this useless locking nut is breaking what a joke !! do i need to order anouther, will the same happen ? shall i take it to steelers and tell them how crap it is ? can they get these locking nuts off etc ?
    Has anyone else had these problems and are these problems covered under warrenty, help will be appreciated thanks.

    Have you had new tyre's recently, maybe they were done up with an air gun, which is a

    If yes take it back to the tyre place and ask them to remove

    If its not broke yet... then the way i got it off was

    X2 Men...

    x1 4ft scaffolding pole

    One holds the locking nut and bar flush onto the bolt...

    The other slides the 4ft scaffolding pole over the bar and slowly inches it off...


    Then replace with non vx Locking nuts.

    when the alloy wheel gets hot and then cools down the wheel nut sticks itself to the wheel aswell as been over tightened

    for the future ask them to grease your nuts when your wheels are removed
    Road grime can sometimes digress into the bolt threads when driving and make them very hard to remove even for non lockers. Buy a breaker bar from a place like halfords for about £15 and these are like an extended ratchet used for just unlocking very tight bolts
